The subscriptionOne decision, once a year
One subscription. The whole library.
Therapist-written guidance on the questions parents bring us most.
£129a year
Around £10.75 a month, billed once a year by Direct Debit. That is about the price of a shelf of good hardbacks, and unlike a shelf of books, the library grows through the year and can be filtered by your child’s age. Change your mind in the first fourteen days and we refund you in full; after that, cancel at any time and read to the end of the year you have paid for.
What you getFrom the first evening
- Every chapter, from the day you join. The whole library, with nothing held back for a higher tier, and everything we add while you are a subscriber.
- The short version, on every chapter. Three things that help, at the top of each chapter, for the evening you don’t have twenty minutes, and the full list at the end to take with you.
- Quick tips. Short pieces for the moments that need an answer now: tantrums and big feelings, bedtime, worry, sibling conflict, screens, and the changes of routine that can tip a day over.
- Books, films and podcasts. Books for you and for your children, films and podcasts, chosen by the therapists who write the library.
- Night mode, and your reading remembered. A night mode for reading in the dark, a place to save what you want to come back to, and a note of the chapters you have read.
- Two or three emails a term. The half-term email, with what is new in the library, and the occasional letter from the practice. You can stop them in one click.
Who writes itAnd who stands behind it
Written by the therapists at Kensington Square Therapy.
The Parent Book is written by the qualified therapists of Kensington Square Therapy, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, drawing on years of clinical work with children, young people, and the parents around them, much of it in and alongside London’s independent schools. The chapters draw on that clinical work to support you, and they say plainly where else to find help, whatever your child’s age.
Before you decideRead something first
Try the shelf before you buy it.
There is no free trial. Instead, you can read one chapter in full, free, and the contents page shows exactly what the library holds. If the writing isn’t for you, don’t subscribe.
Every subject we cover also has two pages that are free to anyone, whether or not you subscribe. One says what to do first, what helps and a few things to try this week. The other names organisations outside this library, what each one does, when it is the right call and how to reach it. Both are written to be printed and kept, and they are a fair way to judge the writing before you decide.

QuestionsThe practical part
Can I cancel?
At any time, from your account page. In your first fourteen days, cancelling refunds your payment in full, whether or not you have started reading, and the library closes to you then. After that, cancelling stops the next renewal, and you read to the end of the year you have paid for, except in the fourteen days after each renewal, when cancelling refunds the rest of that year, less the days since it renewed. The terms and refund policy say this in plain language.
How does sign-in work?
No passwords. Enter your email and click the link we send you; sessions last ninety days, and if you ever lose access you simply ask for a new link.
Will you email me a lot?
No. The half-term email and the occasional letter from the practice, two or three a term, never more, and you can stop them in one click. Otherwise only what your subscription needs, such as reminders before it renews and a receipt when it does.
What about my child’s school?
Pastoral staff at any school can read the library free through the teachers’ shelf and send a chapter to the parent who needs it. Your subscription is yours either way, and no school is told what you read. Read about the teachers’ shelf, or, if you would like your school to have it, tell them about it.
Who do I write to?
For anything about your subscription, hello@theparentbook.com. For anything clinical, or about the practice, contact@kst.ltd. Both are read by a person.
